Our Story
Bella Vista, meaning Beautiful View, is a family-owned restaurant in Fruit Cove, Florida. Owner Giovanni started working in restaurants and upscale hotels as a teenager, near his hometown of Sicignano degli Alburni in South Italy. There, he became passionate about the food service industry and imagined one day owning his own restaurant. After graduating from a 5-year culinary program, Giovanni moved to New York City. He worked at various restaurants and as a personal chef, bringing his customers a taste of Italian hospitality. While in New York, Giovanni met his wife Alysha. After a trip to visit family in Jacksonville, Giovanni felt inspired by the area and the two moved to Florida together to make his dream come to life.

Meet Giovanni Prignano, the visionary behind Bella Vista, whose journey from the picturesque hills of Sicignano degli Alburni, Italy, to the suburbs of Jacsonville, Florida, has been nothing short of extraordinary. Born and raised amidst the rich culinary traditions of southern Italy, Giovanni's passion for food was ignited at an early age. After honing his skills at culinary school in Salerno, Italy, he embarked on a culinary journey that took him across the Atlantic to the bustling streets of New York City and the quaint neighborhoods of New Jersey.
Giovanni built experiences in various Italian restaurants and as a personal chef, however, it was upon settling in St Johns, Florida, that he realized his dream of owning his own restaurant. In 2022, Bella Vista emerged onto the scene. Within its first year, Bella Vista soared to the top, earning the prestigious title of #1 New Restaurant by Yelp Jacksonville.
Giovanni's culinary journey reflects not only his commitment to authentic Italian cuisine but also his relentless pursuit of excellence.
